Money Carer Services

Custom Assistance To Match Each Client's Needs

The Money Carer service has been developed to be flexible in order to reflect the needs of our clients, their carers and family members. Therefore Money Carer can offer the appropriate level of assistance and intervention as required on a client by client basis. This could mean simple daily money management help with general bill paying tasks to formal appointee or deputy responsibilities in conjunction with care home operators, local authorities and other organisations.

Help with Daily Money Management Requirements

The Money Carer service can be used to assist individuals, their carers and or family members with the everyday management of a person's financial affairs. The service is very personal and our aim is simply to fit in as part of the wider carer team.

In short we are the 'Independent and Impartial Money Carers'. Our role is to receive funds and monitor and pay bills such as carers wages, utility bills, rent and taxes etc within a secure, friendly and professional environment.

The Money Carer service also ensures that our clients are receiving all of the welfare benefits that they are entitled to. Where possible we will also explore eligibility for other supporting grants and services at a local level. Benefit entitlement is reviewed on a regular basis to allow for changes in our clients' circumstances or changes to the benefits system itself. We can also arrange for the carers of our clients to have a benefits entitlement assessment to ensure that benefits such as carers allowance are being rightfully paid to support individuals that are delivering care.

Working in partnership with the wider care team, each client has their own Personal Money Carer (PMC) who is responsible for coordinating the daily account management needs of our clients finances in liaison with nominated family members and carers.

Our Personal Money Carers are the hub of contact between the wider care team regarding financial matters and as such their daily responsibilities range from dealing with utility companies or banks on behalf of their client to liaising with carers and family members as well as local authorities and benefits agencies.

Personal Money Carers also will look for income maximisation opportunities on behalf of our clients wherever possible. This may include assessing the charges clients are paying for gas and electricity suppliers or challenging financial institutions if new clients have received penalty charges for late payment or mismanagement of bills in the past.
