Care Messenger Television Partnership

The Money Carer Foundation is pleased to announce our specific partnership with Care Messenger, the unique system that allows family members and care organisations to send messages, images, documents and videos to loved ones and clients. 

Think about this partnership as a WhatsApp type service only on TV's for older or vulnerable folk who would struggle to use an iPhone or tablet but are very comfortable with their own TV remote control.

Care Messenger is the software developer, LG is the international electronics company and Money Carer is the national social enterprise organisation, on the ground, making this superb innovation, happen.

Christmas Opening Times

Please note that the office will be closed from 12 pm on Friday, December 24th (Christmas Eve) until Tuesday, January 4th, 2022. Please can you ensure that any requests for holiday spending monies over and above regular expenditure are emailed to support@moneycarer.org.uk by 12 pm Thursday, December 23rd. An emergency only out of hours number will be in operation throughout the holiday period however please note that the number is only available for genuine emergencies and should be used by social services duty terms. The number is 078415 80634.

Covid 19 Omircon Strain Restrictions - December 13th 2021

Please be advised that we are currently being impacted by the new strain of Covid 19 with staff being infected and the wider effect of self-isolation. This is impacting our customer service levels accordingly. We politely request that you please only contact our customer service numbers for urgent requests to enable us to focus our resources on assisting our most vulnerable clients during this period.

Instant Mobile Phone Top-Up Payments

We are very happy to now be able to make instant top-up payments for most mobile phone networks via our partnership with Payzone. If you or your client needs an instant telephone credit top-up please just let the team know so that we can facilitate this over the telephone.

Bank Holidays and Weekend Payments Update

Please note that we are now able to make regular standing order payments for client budgets/spending money on weekends and bank holidays.

Fee Increase From June 2020

Further to the written communications via Royal Mail please note that the monthly management fee for our appointeeship service will be increased by £10 from June 2020. 

National Care Hamper Delivery Service - 3-4 Day Delivery Time

The Money Carer Foundation has assisted in the introduction of a national food hamper delivery service by British Corner Shop recently. The care hampers come in 3 different sizes and contain a number of staple foodstuffs and brands. They have proved to be very helpful for many of our clients socially isolating and please feel free to use the service and share with other organisations that support vulnerable people. If you add the code MONEYCARER at the checkout a 5% discount will be applied.

Bank Holiday 2020 - Easter Bank Transactions

Please note that regular payments of client personal allowance payments due on Friday, April 10th and Monday, April 13th will be pushed over to Tuesday, April 14th due to the closure of Cashplus over the 2020 Easter Bank Holiday.

We have in, many cases, made supplementary payments on Thursday, April 9th for clients however please do ensure that you contact us to request any additional payments for clients by 4 pm on Thursday, April 9th thank you.

Contacting Us - Coronavirus Procedure 

Please note that, presently, the entire organisation is home-based given Government best-practice guidance. As such, the most effective way of communicating with us as quickly as possible is via our online chat facility (bottom-right hand corner of this website) Team members are staffing this facility to support our extended opening hours between Monday - Friday 8. 00 am to 8 .00pm in order to better assist our clients and their support workers during these challenging times.

You can still, of course, email us at support@moneycarer.org.uk and we will respond as soon as we can also. If you do need to discuss the circumstances of a client or wish to refer a new client into the organisation we will be able to book a telephone or video call appointment at a suitable time with the appropriate team member in order to assist you as well.

MCF Coronavirus Update - March 19th - 2020

As you know there is a worldwide concern and threat about the spread of the Corvid-19 virus. Throughout The Money Carer Foundation operations, we are following and implementing Government advice and have strict preventative measures in place.

As such, from Friday, March 20th, 2020 all MCF employees will be home-based where they will continue to carry out their respective duties.

We acknowledge that we have a unique role in supporting not only our clients but also the carers and support workers that support them too. As such we have made the decision to extend our normal working hours from 9.00 am-5 pm until 8 am - 6 pm Monday to Friday in order to be able to assist our social worker and care provider colleagues with greater access to our services during this time of uncertainty.

We have also made the decision to 'relax' some of our normal protocols regarding the online payment of food /home delivery orders in order to provide carers with more choices about ensuring mutual clients are getting access to shopping and/or meals delivered to them. We understand that resourcing for care providers may become challenging.

We are here to help in any way we can.

Communicating With Us.
To ensure the quickest response possible please ensure that all contact with MCF is made directly via our new online web-chat facility at http:moneycarer.org.uk  where our team can direct, coordinate and respond online or email us at support@moneycarer.org.uk to register and request a response also.

Please note, Our mainline telephone number 0800 083 0626, will prioritise client calls and will be encouraging telephone appointment booking with relevant team members for any more complicated client discussions that may need to take place between social workers or care managers for example.

Introducing Monika, our New Smart-Phone App
To assist with information sharing with clients and carers, MCF has made the decision to bring forward the launch of our Smartphone App, Monika. This free service will be available to download on Apple and Android platforms from next week and will enable clients and carers to view in real-time the transactions and balances on their MCF card accounts. Push notifications will be sent when payments have reached accounts for greater convenience too along with further enhancements that will be announced in the coming weeks.

Requests For Additional Spending Money - 05/11/2019

Please note that requests for additional spending money over and above the amount agreed in a clients personal budget must be made via email. We will aim to make any authorised payments will within 4 working days. An authorised manager will be required to make the decision about additional funding requests. New Telephone System - W/C August 26th 2019

We are introducing a new telephone system this week and whilst we don't anticipate any issues we apologise for any initial teething problems or temporary disruptions.
