FinTech North Northern FinTech Summit 2026 in York

Last week at the FinTech North Northern FinTech Summit 2026 in York, our Chief Ecosystem Officer Helene Panzarino and Product Manager Jo Yates took the stage at the historic York Guildhall for a fireside chat, “Tech Innovation Supercharging Financial Inclusion.”

They drew on 17 years of Money Carer supporting vulnerable people with their finances, and talked about key areas where technology can make a real difference:

👉 The right level of support.
One size doesn’t fit all. Many people don’t need someone else to take full control of their money, but going straight to a mainstream account with no support is too big a step.

👉Everyday payments that work for everyone.
Forgetting a PIN at the checkout, or not having the dexterity to hold a card, can stop someone shopping independently. Wearables and card-embedded tech can remove those barriers.

👉Supporting an older population and their families.
Around 5.8 million people in England and Wales have a registered Property & Financial Affairs LPA. Families need a safer way to manage a loved one’s money together than sharing login details.

Thank you to Joe, Rachel and Ryan for having us, and to everyone who came to chat afterward.
