Trusted Carer Status
Trusted Carers are registered with us as members of a client’s secure ‘Circle of Care’. Through a Money Carer Account, these individuals can access useful client information, including welfare benefit letters, and certain financial information.
On our dedicated banking platform, Monika, we can authorise a trusted carer to access key information, upload payable invoices, and send/receive secure messages. Carers can access these features via our online portal or smartphone app. Within the Circle of Care, these parties may also add and remove other trusted carers through ‘Primary’ administration controls. CQC-Registered Managers (or other appropriate authorities) can grant this authority, provided we have previously registered them on our system.
To improve auditing and client security, managers with ‘Primary’ authority can also configure these controls so that they must also approve money requests over a certain amount. Money Carer can then make the final decision on these payment requests, once approved by all relevant parties. This not only provides an extra layer of protection for client finances but also protects care organisations by representing best practice with regulators.
