Can the appointee bank account have spending limits for the debit cards used by my autistic son and his carers?

    • Hi Joan,

      Thank you for your question.

Yes, you can set spending limits on each card account. For example, if you wish to set a balance limit of £200 on the account used just for your son’s everyday expenditure then you can do so. You would simply set a balance limit of £200 in your account and, if the balance goes above this, anything over £200 would automatically be transferred back into the main appointee bank account you control. This ensures that your son has enough funds available to him everyday but a simple control function is in place to safeguard him at the same time.

The same feature can be used to manage how much money is available for carers or support workers via the Carers Account which can be linked to your appointeeship main account as well.

I trust this helps and please feel free to get in touch with our team who can assist further if needed.
